Dell now "cells" phones in India

Everyone knew Dell to be the popular laptop and desktop manufacturer so far. But with the country's love for cell phones and the potentially large buyer market, its no surprise that Dell Inc. have decided to market smart phones in India. Yes, they'll have to establish themselves first before competing with other brands like Nokia which operate on the Symbian O.S and the more recent Samsung which operates on the Bada O.S, but they are willing to give it a try.

The Dell Aero, Dell Streak and Dell Lighting are all set to create flutters in the mobile market.

Dell Aero is powered by Android, has a powerfull 5MP camera, quick share to Flickr, Picasa, Facebook, Youtube and TwitPic. It also flaunts a 3.5" HD display and integrated social networking apps. Connect upto 20,000 AT&T Wi-fi hotspots and track yourself with GPS.

Dell Streak is the versatile 5 inch Android tablet. It has a 5"  WVGA (800x480) display, Fast 1GHz Snapdragon ARM-based mobile processor from Qualcomm, 5 MP autofocus camera with dual LED flash that offers easy point & shoot capability. Other highlights are :
  • Microsoft Exchange connectivity and integration through TouchDown
  • Google Voice support
  • Integrated Google Maps with voice-activated search, turn-by-turn navigation, street and satellite views
  • Quick access to activity streams via integrated social network app widgets like Twitter, Facebook, YouTube
Dell Lighting is claimed to be the Ultimate Windows Phone 7 device. It has a portrait slider and the other tech specs are :

1GHz QSD8250 Snapdragon processor, WVGA 4.1-inch OLED display, AT&T and T-Mobile 3G, five megapixel autofocus camera, 1GB of flash with 512MB RAM plus 8GB of storage on a MicroSD card (non-user-replaceable, we're assuming), GPS, accelerometer, compass, FM radio, and full Flash support including video playback.

Now that's computing power on the palm of your hands !!!
